Relationship & Couples Therapy Brighton & Hove

You are wondering, what happened?

You used to have so much fun together, and now it feels like you are just roommates, always getting on each other’s nerves as you have the same argument over and over. There is no time for you, no time for us. Everyone is exhausted at the end of the day, and you wonder, how did we get here?

On the surface you have the ‘everything is good’ relationship.

Others have little idea how separate and alone you both feel. Looking back, you can recall specific moments in your relationship where the distance became more intense and immense; a loss, a betrayal, ‘I felt scared, and you weren’t there for me’.

Relationship & Couples Therapy in Brighton and Hove

Whatever you have gone through, you want something to be different.

You are done having the hurtful arguments. You don’t want to shout and scream to be heard. You don’t want to be on the receiving end either. You don’t want to be silent or receive the silent treatment anymore.

You want to stop feeling so resentful of the person you used to love so deeply.

This isn’t how you thought it would be. You long to be back together, as it was when it first began.

How can I help?

I specialise in working with couples and individuals using the EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) model which explores relationship attachments and transforms distress into security and closeness.

EFT offers consistent and lasting positive relationship change in areas such as emotional / physical intimacy, safety and resilience. As you nurture these and other dimensions of your relationships, you will be better placed to deal with future conflicts and stress.

Research shows* 70-75% of couples undergoing EFT successfully move from distress to recovery, and around 90% show significant improvements. These benefits endure long after sessions have been completed, even for those who have experienced significant betrayals.

With over fifteen years’ experience as a relationship therapist, working both in the UK and for ten years in San Francisco, I bring the very best of both therapy cultures into my relationship work and offer online sessions.

Working together

I will help you understand what you need in your relationships and provide a tried and tested road map that offers consistent and lasting positive change. This will enable you to get beyond fighting, and the checking out that often results, to re-establish a healthier, happier sense of connection.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, we will work collaboratively to ensure safety and create emotional healing to support you even when problems feel insurmountable.

We were in a really tough spot when we came to see you. It hasn’t been easy, but we felt your support and care from the start. We have been able to ...
