Individual Relationship Counselling

Online Therapy

You are feeling stressed and overwhelmed.

You know something needs to change but you don’t see how you can fit one more appointment into your already busy schedule. Getting to and from a counselling session is one more time pressure, another thing to figure out in a week packed with commitments. While taking these pressures into account, you know you need support.

What is online counselling?

Online counselling occurs between me (the psychotherapist) and you online rather than at a physical location (my office).

How does it work?

Once we have agreed that online counselling is a good fit for you, we will find a convenient time for us to meet virtually. Before our session, it is helpful for you to identify a quiet, comfortable and private space where you can be online.
You will log on to a safe, confidential videoconferencing system where we meet for the session. I will typically send you an email with a link to an online platform, five minutes before our meeting. When you click on the link, our session will begin.

How does this differ from traditional in-person couples counselling

The only difference is that we will not be in the same room. There are also some significant advantages to online counselling: very accessible; no need to travel anywhere, no traffic/parking/commute time.

  • So easy; as simple as logging on to your computer.
  • Truly comfortable; settle into your favourite chair in the comfort of your own home.

Who can you work with online?

I can work with anyone in the UK, as well as UK residents who travel abroad.

What can I expect during our first online meeting?

Our first session is focused on getting to know what is happening for you, as well as how and why you would like support at this time.

You may want to share your concerns, experiences, and personal history and ask me any questions about how I work. You will learn more about my approach, Emotionally Focused Therapy. I aim to gather information and help you identify your goals. Together, we will then develop a plan of working to support your relationship.

How long and how much?

Sessions are 50 minutes and we meet once a week. Longer sessions are available when requested. My fees are £70 for individual and £90 for couple sessions. Please see the FAQ page for more information.

Contact me so we can find a time to talk about the ways in which I can support you with online counselling.
